DMin Adventure in Chattanooga

So I'm in Chattanooga this week to do a research class on site at Tennessee Temple. I wonder what it's gonna be like.

This morning, Amanda and I got to attend Lifechurch in Cookeville. What a blessing to see my old pastor and friend Bobby Davis (as well as Nick, McKenIe, Greg, Donnie, Bob, Julie, Marlana, Chris, Terry, and Judy). I drove separately because I drove here following the service and a quick bite to eat. But while I was driving, I listened to 93.7 B-Rock. They had a program on called Rock the Rock which showcased heavy Christian music.

Now you know I love The Metal but I'm encouraged by someone - some radio station - showcasing the heavier sounds with a message about Christ. That's awesome! I applaud you B-Rock! What got me this morning was a Skillet song that was played. It was one of those songs that come across as a song that would be perfect on a UFC / WWE soundtrack. It was aggressive and had good lyrics.

I tried to find the lyrics online and since it was so new, I could only find the We As Humans version. I'd like to share them and then get your thoughts about the Theology of Retaliation:

 Lyrics
You want to push me like I don't mind
You want to break me but not this time
You underestimate the moment you shove
You've got no idea what I'm capable of
No, no you don't

You think I'm going to back down
You better think again
I've always said
The bigger they are, the harder they fall
You're going to suffer
Hit me, I'll hit back harder
The bigger you are, the harder you fall
It's your darkest hour
Hit me, I hit you harder
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back

You are the darkness and I am the light
You are the fallen and Heaven don't lie
So, so, so step back you're crossing the line
If I told once I've told you one thousand times
No, no you don't

You think I'm going to back down
You better think again
I've always said
The bigger they are, the harder they fall
You're going to suffer
Hit me, I'll hit back harder
The bigger you are, the harder you fall
It's your darkest hour
Hit me, I hit you harder
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back

(Strike back) x6

The bigger they are, the harder they fall
The bigger they are, the harder they fall
You've got my back against the wall
You've got my back, you're going to fall

The bigger they are, the harder they fall
You're going to suffer
Hit me, I'll hit back harder
The bigger you are, the harder you fall
It's your darkest hour
Hit me, I hit you harder

The bigger they are
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
The harder they fall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
The bigger you are, (the bigger you are) the harder you fall
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
When my back's against the wall
I strike back, I strike back, I strike back
